One should not bake when sleep deprived…….I had worked the night before, came home took a quick nap and was hoping to have fresh cookies made for a meeting I needed to attend early afternoon.

But, after reading the recipe after I was too many steps into the recipe to go back. I realized I didn’t have time to finish the recipe.

Do you measure or weigh your dry ingredients? I typically measure, but my friend who’s baking along with me noticed the weight and measurements were slightly different, so I opted to do both.

In my post night shift stupor I couldn’t find my sifter…….after tearing the kitchen apart, I improvised.

Other than the giant mess I made, this worked well! And yes, there are two cups of coffee, I had forgotten I had already poured one…..oop

The author noted in the book the dough would deflate, as I was attempting to fold everything together I was super skeptical this would work out.

But Voila! It did! These cookies were absolutely amazing.
