I should really title this post……This is what happens when you rush through making something and don’t pay attention!
I was really looking forward to this one, I absolutely love strawberries and angel food cake. And whipped cream cake seemed to be a spin off of angel food cake.
I was quite disorganized from the start. I try and keep things nice and tidy as I bake. As you can see here, there’s a container collagen peptides, golden syrup and one of the kids left their empty smoothie bottle on the counter.

As I was folding the dry ingredients into the egg whites and cream I was baffled by how dense the batter felt!
After it was in the oven, I was messaging my friend who I’m baking alongside and she made a comment about the water. WHAT WATER?!?
Yup, I had completely missed an entire step. I scramble to take the cake out of the oven and while the batter is still in the pan I attempt to add the water………what a mess!
At this point I had no idea what I’d be taking out of the oven!
Unfortunately, due to my misstep this one didn’t work out but I’m going to bake it again….and it smelled absolutely amazing.
