Post Seven: The Buster

It’s Labor Day weekend, the unofficial end of summer, also the last time I’m ever hoping to work a night shift in my life. Nights have taken their toll on my overall wellbeing.

So, we skipped ahead to the 1980s…..the decade I was entered this world! And made The Buster!

We broke the blender…….I’ve had this blender since my first post college apartment in 2002! It’s traveled with me from Phoenix to Philadelphia back to Phoenix and Newtown Square.

We overfilled it! Who knew!!

Man, this one looked so good! It was incredibly easy to put together. It took everything in me not to impatiently cut a small piece (just to try, you know for science and all). But I knew it would mess up the layers so I managed to be an adult for once!

I caved and had a small piece for breakfast, BEST breakfast ever! I was so happy with how the layers turned out and the chocolate topping had the consistency of hot fudge. I think this is something we could easily make with a variety of ice cream flavors, but I think the simplicity of vanilla, chocolate and peanuts works beautifully.

I opted not to put as many peanuts in since I made this dessert to take to a Labor Day party with several children under the age of 7!

Let’s just say it was a huge hit amongst the parents and kids alike!

Until next time, Happy Baking.
