What is the difference between a cake and a torte? I had no idea so I looked it up! Apparently a torte is a a dessert made with more egg and nuts or dry crumbs. Ah! Now this recipe makes more sense, there’s no added flour, the flour comes from the 5 cups of Graham cracker crumbs!

There was a lot of spice in this cake! And it smelled absolutely delightful as it baked. It was the perfect bake for October 1st.
One pint is just over 2 cups of whipping cream! I have never paid attention to little details like this, but with the cost of groceries I’m trying to be more mindful of what I’m spending and not being so wasteful.

I desperately need to work on my decorating skills! Maybe my goal for next year is to take a cake decorating class. But I tried piping the whipped cream on as the author had done so with his version……mine’s definitely a bit rough.

My friend and I were able to make time during the afternoon to FaceTime and taste test together. One of my favorite pieces of these bakes!
This was a hit! The cake was the most delicate bite with so much flavor, I cannot wait to make this one again.
Everyone loved it….even our cat!

This wraps up the authors favorite recipe from his book. I’m glad we saved this one for last, it was the perfect recipe for Fall.
I’m looking forward to completing more recipes!
Until next time, Happy Baking.
