Post 22: Peanut Butter Bread

The first recipe of the New Year! It has been awhile since my last bake, the business of the holidays got the better of me!

So, I went back to the 1930s for a simple quick bread, for my 20th recipe from Baking Yesteryear I made Peanut Butter Bread.

This quick bread had no egg, it’s a depression era recipe so it makes sense it uses less ingredients. This recipe also used four teaspoons of baking powder! It was definitely going to rise.

And voila! It sure did.

The author recommended trying warm with butter.

So, the verdict. This was disappointing. The crumb was dry, it was dense and flavorless.

My last couple of bakes haven’t gone as planned. But onto another bake!
