It’s been awhile since I baked from Baking Yesteryear. I always find the start of the new year difficult. Reflecting on what I didn’t accomplish the year before, evaluating where I am today.
But, I wanted to get back into the kitchen and working on something that brings me joy.

We are going back to the 1900s, with Fannie Farmers Pioneer Brownie recipe.
The batter was dense. I ran out of parchment paper, I ran out of parchment paper weeks ago and I keep forgetting to purchase any!

I wasn’t paying attention and I overcooked them. I need to invest in a thermometer for my oven, I think the temperature of our oven is wildly unpredictable. I also didn’t love how flat they were.

I think I prefer a cake like fluffier brownie. But as always, I still enjoyed baking another recipe.
