I’m not totally sure where to start here, I had to look up where the name Rocks came from.
It was shortened from Rock Cakes. The British enjoy scones with their afternoon tea, but during World War 2, in England their were food rations occurring. So, the ministry of health created a new recipe that was similar to the scone, but not as ingredient heavy. And thus, the Rock Cake was created.
These were incredibly easy to put together and delicious! They were a bit more dense than a traditional scone. They were best fresh out of the oven, but even a few days later reheated they were still tasty.
Another successful bake! Until next time, Happy Baking.
